Choosing your wealth adviser
Choosing a wealth adviser can sometimes be a daunting process. ASIC recommends the following tips when choosing an adviser:

1. Deal only with professional financial advisers who hold an Australian Financial Services Licence provided by ASIC.
2. Think about your financial situation and the financial goals you'd like to acheive.
3. If you decide you need financial advice, ask family, friends or work colleagues whether they can recommend anyone to you.
4. Speak to a few financial advisers from different companies before deciding who to get advice from.
5. Ask about the financial adviser's experience and qualifications.
6. Always ask what the advice will cost.
7. Find out if there are any restrictions on the financial products the adviser can recommend.

Professional development
As an authorised representative of Genesys, our advisers are required to maintain their education to a certain standard through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Each adviser must achieve a minimum number of CPD points in each financial year to be allowed to continue to provide advice to clients. This helps ensure that Genesys advisers stay abreast of legislative changes, and continuously improve their knowledge of strategies and financial products. Through numerous resources, our advisers have access to a wide range of subject matter experts to help them provide the best possible advice to you.

The most important professional development event for our advisers is the Genesys National Conference, held each year in a different location around Australia. The conference is an opportunity for the advisers to discuss business ideas, learn about new strategies and techniques, and changes in legislation to ensure they are well equipped with the best information and knowledge to build, manage and protect your wealth.
